I Love Thanksgiving Vacation

Just home from Thanksgiving Day on the farm, it occurs to me just how much I love vacations. I know, lots of people don't get along well with the family, but I do. One of the advantages of a large family, no matter the grip againist another, there is always someone to shared it with. And, of course, someone to put into perspective and point out the good. I sure do love my family.

Almost everyone in the family made it farm this year. The most notable exception being my daughter Nicole and her new baby. Everyone was hoping to shower the baby Greggory with huggs and kisses. (By the way, Nicole, Amy says she's really, really mad at you for not showing up!) It was wonderful to see so many of the neices and nephews growing up. One year can make such a big difference. And while each respective parent thinks their child will never catch on, I see they are all unique. Each with their own perspective on life and each learning to find their own way. I have faith they will grow to be contributing members of society, albeit not the super stars we once thought they would all be. But adults, forging their way in the world, with ups and downs, tears and joy. Just like we did. Who could ask for anything more.

So, once again, I miss them all. I'll keep them in my prayers, while looking forward to the next gathering.
